Best of Tauranga Newsletter - April 2011

We're now well in to 2011 and the weather is cooling! Long Summer days are fading fast, no thanks to Daylight Saving this Sunday! At least we have the Easter break to look forward too.

The past month saw Tsumanis in Japan, and the earthquakes in Chiristchurch. It has been a test of the New Zealand spirit. Events like these really make you grateful for what you have.

Make a pledge to those less fortunate

Most of us have been lucky. We still have our lives, we still have our homes. For thousands of Cantabrians who have been displaced, its an unsettling time. Especially for the little ones. We encourage everyone to help out their fellow kiwis where they can. The New Zealand Red Cross is doing some great work and if you have a little spare, why not make a donation. Even $5 will go towards helping someone in need. Red Cross Donations

Featured Local Business

On a lighter note, this month we feature local business: 1st Call Recruitment

1st Call can help both businesses looking for staff, and candidates looking for jobs!

Recruiting Staff for Businesses

With the labour market tight, it's challenging to find the right staff. 1st Call recruitment is a national award winning Tauranga business that is keen to assist you in your search. The price of DIY recruiting often outweighs outsourcing – employing a professional recruitment consultant who has the equipment, processes and supplier agreements in place, can cost less and save companies a lot of unnecessary time and hassle.

Your ad in the paper won't always get seen by the top people you need. 90% of candidates with 1st Call are already employed and simply don't have the time to check the papers for jobs, so rely on 1st Call to bring the role to their attention.

Get in touch with 1st Call Recruitment for a no obligation quote on recruiting solutions, and to see the complete range of skills testing and profiling tools available. Contact: Kirsty Morrison or Phill Van Syp Ph: 0800 GO EMPLOY (46 36 75) or 579 9295 or Email:

They send out regular updates of new jobs, so if you are looking for a job, or perhaps thinking about something better, then you can receive the updates here, or to check out their current vacancies go to:
