Run by followers of the ‘slow food’ movement that came out of Italy in the late 1980’s, the award-winning beachfront Slow Fish promotes high quality food, locally produced and prepared, in opposition to ‘fast food’. Slow Fish won the 2011 Restaurant of the Year for the Bay of Plenty Region!
Longtime local restaurateurs Josh and Brigitte Weele use local fresh produce and organic ingredients such as flour & free range eggs (‘We don’t even have a deep fryer’).
